Nokia E75 ReceivesNokia has released a new firmware update for its QWERTY keyboard-equipped E75 smartphone. This is a must-install firmware for all Nokia E75 owners. The firmware update version 201.12.01 provides several improvements, including:

* New shortcuts in Applications folder – Facebook, YouTube and MySpace
* Calendar speed improvements and synchronisation bug fixes
* Updated clients: N-Gage, Share Online, Nokia Messaging
* Contacts speed improvements
* Web update to next-gen browser, v7.1, which is faster
* Overall UI speed improvements
* Quickoffice updated to v5.3, with Office 2007 support (v6.0 is a free upgrade within the app)

Petro-Canada has begun selling Nokia’s latest flip phone ‘2720′ on their network for $95 on prepaid. This new handset is equipped with a 1.8-inch 128 x 160 TFT internal display, an external display, a 1.3-megapixel camera, a music player, an FM radio, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth and supports dual-band GSM 850/1900 connectivity.

Nokia is preparing to launch another touchscreen phone in 2010 called the Nokia 5235, which is basically the successor to the recently released Nokia 5230. This new handset will come with Music edition allowing users to enjoy a free and unlimited access to millions of music tracks via Nokia Music Store. As for the specs itself, the phone will offer a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 2-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm audio output and run on the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system. The Nokia 5235 will go on sale in the first quarter of 2010 for a recommended retail price of €145 (about $214) before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia 7230 Receives FCC Approval With US 3GFCC has approved another upcoming slider phone from Nokia namely the Nokia 7230. This new handset will work on US 3G bands (850/1900 MHz) and feature a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 3.2MP camera, a stereo FM radio, Nokia Maps, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headset jack and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. Folks in the UK will receive the Nokia N900 via Vodafone UK’s online store sometime next month. Vodafone is the only carrier to provide the Nokia N900 in the UK so far. As a reminder, the Nokia N900 is a 3G handset that supports HSDPA, GSM/GPRS, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a slide full QWERTY keyboard, a 32GB internal memory, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, Vodafone Mobile Internet, an MP3 player, an FM radio, a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and Auto focus. The Nokia N900 measures 110.9mm x 59.8mm x 19.55mm and weights 181grams.
