Folks in the US will receive the Nokia N900 starting next week. It is the first Nokia device based upon the TI OMAP3 microprocessor with ARM Cortex-A8 core. The Maemo 5-powered smartphone supports Quad-band GSM and 3G UMTS connectivity and features a 5MP camera, a portable media player, and a mobile Internet device with email and web browsing. The smartphone features a 3.2-inch (640 x 360 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera with a dual LED flash, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi and a 32GB of internal storage that is enough to store approx. 7,000 songs. The Nokia X6 is the first Nokia device with a capacitive touchscreen that provides more precision and quicker response than resistive displays. Rogers Wireless has begun selling the all new Nokia 6750 on its network. The handset is sold for $99.99 with a 3-year contract agreement. Nokia is gearing up to launch another entry-level candybar ‘Nokia 5132 XpressMusic’ for the Asian market which will be available via China Mobile. Specs-wise, this new handset will offer a 2-inch QVGA display, a 2MP camera with video recording, an advanced music player, MMS, a microSD card slot (1GB card is included in the box) and Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and release date yet.
