LG has launched LG KT601 Smartphone which is quadband GSM network ready mobile phone featuring a large 2.4-inch 256K colors display, Full QWERTY Keypad, GPRS and EDGE data connectivity, 2.0 MP digital camera, GPS receiver, and memory expansion card slot.
lg-kt610-smartphone The new LG KT601 mobile phone is powered by 400 MHz Qualcomm MSM7200 processor and it is a quadband GSM 850/ GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 MHz network ready handset which featrues 2.4-inch, 256K colors, 240 x 320 pixels resolution QVGA display with full QWERTY keypad. There is also an 1.45 inch wide 256K colors capable external secondary display which is capable of displaying 4 lines of text.
An updated version of LG KT610 smartphone is likely to be powered by Google Android operating system bundled with gmail, Google Talk, Google maps and many Google applications for mobile phone.
The new LG KT610 phone’s display technology also offers easy screen size adjustment and horizontal or vertical rotation of the screen depending on hand movement. The screen can work in either landscape or portrait modes and rotates automatically. In addition, there is also a light sensor that allows adjusting the brightness according the ambient lighting conditions.
With dimensions like 108.9 x 53.9 x 17.2 mm, the new LG KT610 smartphone is surely amongst the smallest communicators out there. The folding mechanism allows latching in two positions – at 120 degrees and at full 180 degrees flat position.

The handset allows upto 1000 entries phonebook (practically unlimited), 500 SMS ans 100 MMS memory along with 40 dialed, 40 received, 40 missed calls records for max 30 days period.
The contact book allows Name, Mobile, Home, Company name, Email address, Office number, Fax number, Birthday, Associate Picture, and Associate Video per contact.
Digital Camera
The multimedia LG KT610 smart phone also features powerful 2.0 Megapixels resolution main digital camera with maximum of 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution allowing 4X Digital Zoom, Multi Shot (1,3,6,9), Brightness Adjustment, White Balance, and built-in flash. Sadly camera does not offer autofocus support. Other still image captured resolution include 320X240, 640X480, 1024 x 768, and 1600 x 1200 pixels.
The multi shot function of LG KT610 mobile phone allows upto 9 shot, 6 shot, 3 shot, or 1 shot. Predefined Scene modes include Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, illuminated / indoors, Portrait, Landscape, Night, Beach, Sports, and Party etc and digital camera offers many picture effects such as Black & White, Negative, and Sepia.
The digital camera also offers options for timer shooting, Macro shooting, Red Eye detection and reduction, etc and several software applications are available for picture editing and movie making.
The digital camera in LG KT610 also allows continuous video recording (and playback) with 128 x 96 pixels, 176 x 144 pixels and 320 x 240 pixels resolution, supporting MP4, and 3GP formats, Flash, White Balance presets, Color effects presets.
The Video playback allows several standard video file types including H.264, WMA, MPEG4, WMV, and AVI.
There is a secondary VGA resolution camera for videocalling.
Media Player
The LG KT610 mobile phone also offers integrated MP3 media player which supports AAC, AAC+, AAC+ Enhanced, MP3, Midi, AMR, MPEG4, H.263, WMA Audio formats.
Connectivity
The LG KT610 phone offers GPRS class 10 connection, 3G HSDPA, 3.6 Mbps connection, EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps connection, Bluetooth v2.0 + A2DP wireless connection for streaming music to compatible pair of wireless headphones or speakers, WAP 2.0, xHTML browser and USB v2.0/v1.2 port support.
The LG KT610 allows super fast data speeds of 1.8 MBit/s or 3.6 MBit/s in downlink with this new HSDPA technology that allows downloading music, games, video clips and make & receive video calls at the touch of a button at incredibly fast speeds.
The phone supports polyphonic 64 channels ringtones supporting MP3, AAC+,AAC++, MIDI, and SMAF audio formats.
Bluetooth 2.0
LG KT610 is equipped with Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology that allows Bluetooth wireless printing, sending images or documents to a compatible printer etc fast and effortless. In addition, Bluetooth v2.0 allows streaming music wirelessly to a compatible headset or speakers.
